Here is an older song that I wrote for my son Dean when he was younger. It’s titled Mayday because he was born in May.

The lyrics are basically a song of life lessons for him if I were to vanish one day. I remember him when he was younger, we’d get in the car and he’d ask me to play “his” song.

This song is one we did a home demo of a while back. A lot of the guitar harmonies from that demo were used on this recorded version because the performance and execution were so good. This is one of those songs where I was influenced by Queens of the Stone Age but sound nothing like Queens. The ooh ahhs on the chorus I guess. Also the pixies rip off in the bridge. I dig this song.
